How to ensure that bulk liquor is stored without leakage or evaporation
With the continuous advancement of industrialization, informatization, urbanization, and agricultural modernization, the development of social productive forces has brought great market potential and vast development space for bulk Baijiu in the transformation of industrial and consumption structures. In today's diverse and complex range of alcoholic beverages, consumers' demands for bulk Baijiu are becoming increasingly urgent. They not only need good bulk Baijiu, but also need to know how to store it. If you buy bulk Baijiu, how should you store it? Next, Maotai sealed-jar Baijiu will teach you how to store bulk Baijiu without leakage or evaporation?
1. Choose the right container
You need to choose a container with good airtightness to store liquor. A ceramic jar is a good option, as the minerals in ceramic can enhance the quality of Baijiu. The jar should not be too large, as this can lead to uneven temperature distribution within the liquor. When filling the jar, it is not advisable to overfill, as high temperatures can cause the liquor to overflow. After filling, ensure that the jar remains tightly sealed. You can wrap the bottle opening carefully with plastic wrap and remove it only when you are ready to drink the liquor.
II. Proper stirring helps retain the flavor
Properly stirring the undiluted Baijiu is a mixture of alcohol and water, and the two are dissolved. However, due to different specific gravities, during storage, the alcohol content of the upper layer is higher, while that of the lower layer is lower. If stored for a long time and the lid is not tightly sealed, the taste of the upper layer will become milder. To maintain the consistency of alcohol content and taste, a wooden rake should be used to properly stir and mix the layers before dispensing.
III. Wax sealing method
It is more beneficial to seal the bottle with wax to preserve the wine, as the wine leakage is usually from the bottle mouth. Many manufacturers use bottle cap processes that cannot be completely sealed. By sealing the bottle mouth with wax, the tightness is increased, and the leakage of wine will be greatly reduced. First, wrap the sealed bottle mouth with two layers of transparent tape to increase the tightness, prevent wax from penetrating into the seams, and restore the original appearance after removing the wax and tape. Then, melt the wax, turn off the heat after melting, and allow it to cool naturally for about 5 minutes. After that, apply the wax. You can place the sealed area upside down into the wax, or use a spoon to pour it into the sealed area. The wax application requires three to four times: put the bottle mouth into the wax and take it out quickly, then blow air onto the bottle mouth with your mouth to cool and solidify the wax adhering to the bottle mouth. Repeat this process several times until a small layer of wax forms on the bottle mouth. Then, move on to another bottle. Do not leave the bottle mouth in the wax for a long time, as plastic bottle caps can become hot and deformed. When the first layer of wax solidifies, apply the second layer of wax using the same method. Apply the third layer of wax using the same method. Generally, three layers are sufficient. Too thin a layer is not good, and too thick a layer wastes wax.
4. Cling film sealing method
Wrap the bottle opening carefully with plastic wrap, and then wrap it with transparent tape. Make sure the tape is straight and tight around the bottle opening, wrapping it multiple times. Transparent tape has a characteristic that the longer it is left, the tighter it will wrap itself. Don't forget to leave a bit of tape protruding, otherwise it will be difficult to remove. However, this method is slightly less effective in preventing "wine leakage" compared to sealing with wax.
After mastering these methods, we must also regularly inspect the containers. If any leakage is detected, prompt measures must be taken to address it; otherwise, it will affect the quality of the wine.
